World Book Day

All the children enjoyed the day and went home with a different book thanks to the book swap.  They also enjoyed a bedtime story from a different teacher.

The children who came to me to hear about Thomas the Tank Engine really had a fun time even though they were mainly year six!   Some literature is timeless and can appeal to all ages .   I still love those stories and recall them being read to me when I was in the infants!

We have been enjoying the story of Dogger.

We have made a moving Dogger with split pins and in literacy we have been writing about how Dave looked after his toy.

We have been thinking about using some different sentence starters. Everyone has worked really hard at this. I have been thrilled with the children’s work.

In maths we are working on our number bonds to 20.
